WHY VOLUNTEER AT THE UXBRIDGE YOUTH CENTRE?

Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and bring a
colourful array of interests and expertise to the UYC.  Despite 
their differences, our volunteers choose to become a part of the
Uxbridge Youth Centre for the same reasons:
•  Our volunteers have a passion for engaging youth and 
   enhancing the well-being of young people in our community

•  Our volunteers want to help shape future leaders in our 
   community

•  Our volunteers have knowledge, experience and skills they 
   want to share with others

•  Our volunteers want an experience that is tailored to their

Volunteers are an integral part of our success and the Uxbridge Youth Centre aims to provide a rewarding volunteer experience that with opportunities for growth.


HOW DO VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTE TO THE UXBRIDGE  YOUTH CENTRE?

We recognize the value of your time and because of this, the UYC 
has created a variety of volunteer options which allow our volunteers
to choose their level of commitment and help out at the Centre as 
much as their schedule will allow.

ADULT VOLUNTEERS

We are currently looking for adults over 18 who are interested in 
interacting with youth during our drop-in hours, acting as 
chaperones,helping to organize events, facilitate workshops 
of all kinds and to generally get involved at the Centre. Some
of our volunteers come every week, while others donate 2 
hours per month. We can also add you to our volunteer list 
of individuals who would like to help out at the occasional 
event but don't have a regular schedule. We can work 
around you!

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS

Looking to earn your community service hours needed to graduate? The Uxbridge Youth Centre is a great go-to place to find volunteer opportunities both within the community and at the Centre.  We are always looking for volunteers to help out with our special events programming.

WORKSHOP AND EVENT FACILITATORS 

Have a talent or interest that you believe could make a great
workshop or event at the Uxbridge Youth Centre?  This is a
perfect fit for those who would like to give back to the 
community, but don't have the time to make a long term 
volunteering commitment.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

At the Uxbridge Youth Centre we have a dedicated group of 
volunteers that make up our Board of Directors.  We are
constantly expanding, adding new faces to our Board
and looking for more and more ways to improve the quality 
and effectiveness of the Uxbridge Youth Centre. 


HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER

To become a volunteer at the UYC it truly is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1.  Fill out a Volunteer Application and return it to the UYC.
     Volunteers over the age of 18 must also complete a Police Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.

2.  Attend a screening interview with UYC staff so that we can match your interests with meaningful experiences at the            Uxbridge Youth Centre

3.  Complete our online volunteer orientation to learn more about the Uxbridge Youth Centre, its policies and procedures          and how to make the most of your volunteer experience.
